Treating myself to a Warmer coat for hanging around in on a chilly day I know the prism is a bit thinner which I could use as an inner layer but struggling to decide! Any help?? Love the jelly bean green colour

I like the Prism because it's very versatile. In fact I now have two (including a JB green/yellow one). When I'm bikepacking and ready to stop for the night, the first thing I do is stick a Prism on.

Prism is ace, have just ordered another as my 6 year old is looking worse for wear. I have 4 other Primaloft jackets and its still my fave.

Stretch a little to the Ice Guide if you are more hanging around than active outdoors. Add a icebreaker into the mix and its 8)

I owned the Flux then upgraded. The Ice Guide is deceptably thin.

Prism for a jacket to stuff in your pack on your bike.

No feathers in it and easy to wash when it gets dirty.

There's the Black Diamond Hot Forge hoodie, which apparently has a mix of weather-treated goose-down and PrimaLoft Gold synthetic, supposed to improve its performance in damp, cold condititions.
Can't afford one myself, at the mo', but I'm sorely tempted...

Synthetic. And either Montane model is great - depends *how* cold you plan to take it and how warm you run.
FWIW, mrs_oab and I live in similar jackets (mine Patagonia, her Montane or Rab), and they are great.
Having said that, I find them sweaty and so find on the move a good fleece teamed with pertex/uber thin softshell still has to be beaten...Rab VR or Montane equivalent (not made any more) are just fab and my 'go to' tops.

I've got a prism and it's not as warm as I'd hoped. Good at at trapping heat you're generating, but less good if you're hanging about more. I guess it's a classic Bontrager problem - warm, light and cheap - pick two.
