I've just watched a film called Monsters.
Not what I expected at all, and all the better for it.
Really liked it, perfect antidote for a rubbish week at work.

Anyone else seen it/liked it (or otherwise)?

Reminded me a bit of Solaris and Moon in that it was really 'still' somehow.

Right, time for a cuppa. I can heartily recommend Whittards 1881 blend.

I found it a bit boring.

Had read about it and had high expectations but in the end it was quite forgettable.

I liked both solaris and moon though.

I really enjoyed it, very impressive film considering the miniscule budget, and the fact all the SFX were done on a laptop in the directors home. I'd love to see just what he can do with a larger budget and complete autonomy from studio interference.

If you've managed to avoid the hype about it then i imagine it is pleasantly surprising. If you've heard movie critics rave about it then, like me, you might be disappointed. Having heard all the stuff about the sfx and the bedroom story, all i thought about when i noticed them (again and again as they feature in lots of scenes) was, 'yeah, that looks for something done on a laptop, but it isn't as good as Avatar'. Decent film, but not as good as Moon.
