Specialists are now fobbing me off when I try to get them to write something down to back up what they told me verbally.
It's not looking good. They don't want to help me.

Thats why they are being non commital.
The thing is - I've got mobile guy saying that they said the ECU WAS damaged, now they are telling me it wasn't. So if they don't talk to me some more I've got no choice but to assume mobile guy is telling the truth and specialist are trying to rip one or both of us off.
So their reputation does depend on it to an extent.
TR it's not a technical question - it's just a case of getting them to back up what they told me verbally, which makes complete sense given the events.
