I've had a rubbish espresso machine for years and never managed to get good results. Christmas has come early in the slw household and i'm now in possession of a Rancilio Silvia. Had to get the Rocky grinder to go with it as my previous Krups just wouldn't go fine enough. Also using an Espro tamper which clicks at 30lbs pressure to help consistency.
Had a bit of a play around this evening and i'm getting better shots than i have ever made in the past.
Grind was slightly too fine here so shot took 33 seconds. Didn't taste too shabby though.
No more sleepy stu in the mornings, yay!
Nice. Can't drink coffee from a shot glass though! Do you heat the glasses first?
£80 on a tamper seems a bit much though!
Coffee doesn't affect me sleepywise anymore. But congrats on the new kit!
The shot glasses were mainly for calibration purposes, pre warmed.
Need to go to bed but still buzzing! Oops.
