Hi Guys, One of my son's friends, Carlus, McNicholl, has gone missing (8 Jan 2012) and police have now launched a formal search for him.

He's not the kind of person to go walkabout so this is very out of character. A long shot I know, but if anyone can help, please contact the police at the details in the link. Every little helps so if anyone was good enough to spread it to friends and colleagues and ask them to do the same that would be great, thank you.

I've been bumping this across facebook (based in Glasgow and loads of my mates are N. Irish but over here for study and work). Fingers crossed.
A mate of mine's dad went missing last summer, but after a BBC/social media appeal he was found safe and well 9 days later. I know David (his son) went through hell, can't imagine how your mate is feeling right now, but after Mr Lyon was found I regained faith in the power of collective support for stuff like this.

hmm, we work with the GCNS chaps each year. I hope he turns up.
(and a colleague of mine was the MRT chap who went and spoke to Mr Lyon when police finally got through on the phone, in a wooden glen near us...)
Sadly there is no happy ending to this as Carlus' body was found at the weekend
