I know very little about any type of tea, let alone the mint variety. My wife loves the stuff though.
I'm looking at getting her a selection of nice mint teas as a small Christmas present. Can anyone recommend either a good selection or good individuals I can put together myself?
Ta muchly.
Whatever you get, please don't bother with Green Tea and Mint, it's gopping.
My favourites include:
Pukka Teas Peppermint and Liquorice and 3 Mint.
Tea Pigs Peppermint Leaves
Twinings Moroccan Mint
Tesco Finest Mint
Starbucks Mint Blend (in a nice tin)
All put in a lovely sectioned tea caddy.
Probably the best though is a bunch of fresh garden Mint and some hot water.
Aldi peppermint, the slightly posher one.
Suki.
Wife is rather partial to a Lebanese combination of mint and rose leaf.
I have no comprehension of tea, but if we are in a city with a known supply, the most illogical detours are made to have a pot of it.
Otherwise, Tregothnan is her favourite mint tea. Which is also widely available nowhere beyond Truro.
OP in true STW style not an answer to your actual question ... 😉
We just made our own, a few leaves (quantity to taste) in some boiling water. Stir a bit and maybe some sugar. Mint grows freely and freezes well for this purpose. Seems to stand reheating well too. We have sat and watched villagers in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco prepare mint tea for us and they where quite a bit more elaborate but our lazy version is tasty enough.
Pukka 3 mint is the bomb. Probably not worthy of a Christmas present though - how about getting something nice from Fortnum & Mason in a nice tin with some nicely paired biscuits?
