Apologies..I know this is asked regularly but looking for current suggestions for half decent P handle sets as well as the 3 way Allen key jobbies. Don't want to spend a fortune but don't want rubbish either ! Before anyone suggests the Wera colour sets (L shape ) I personally have these but I'm looking for the other types as a small gift.
I also personally own the Park triple sets but sure you pay a premium for the name and they don't seem anything special . Quite like the ball end type ala Wera .
They won't be used for anything serious btw ...the recipient is a mechanical novice.
Many thanks
Bill

This is one of my most-used tools, would be fine for any bike mechanic TBH...

Looks good Chapa ...they don't seem to do the smaller size though.

I bought a Planet X three way allen key and it was made of cheese, rather than rotate the allen bolt, the tool just twisted round itself 3 times and then snapped off!

Footflaps .. they'll say that's an anti overtorque safety measure!
They do have some good stuff but I'll never forget the 6 pairs of merino socks they sold me. They were cheap but heels wore through in 3 rides!

I got a draper set a few years ago, probably about 15quid.
Cheap, but have been faultless - on some of the thinner ones you can see where they've twisted slightly under pressure, but the ball ends and hexagonal ends have all remained in really good condition. For what they cost, couldn't really fault them...even if the stand falls over easily!

I've got both hex and torx Teng Tools three-way sets and they're great. Nothing worse than cheese-like tools, I think I paid just under and just over £30 for them, come in a storage box.

Bondhus- just buy the ones you want, 4,5,6 for example, not spendy this way.

I have a set that looks v similar to the draper ones up there. Have had them for many years, they're good.

Unior 3 way is great

I've also got these - 2/2.5/3 & 4/5/6. About a tenner each from Tredz. Probably one of my most used tools

They also do a ball-ended version in the 4/5/6 hex and also a torx one.

For the 3-ways:
https://www.tredz.co.uk/bicycle-maintenance-tools?q=unior+legged

I've always fancied the Bondhus tools, but then get put off by the fact that they aren't p-handles so the 8mm and 10mm don't really work for cranks/pedals/etc.
So they I go around in circles not willing to pay £45 for the other brands and not trusting the cheap ones. Looking forward to seeing what other ideas people have.
