Resurrecting my helmet cam system (have just bought an Archos 405 for recording), however the mike which came with the camera is broken - in any case it was always irritating that it needed to be powered. What do people use for a mike - will a cheap mini microphone as sold for use with Skype etc. work? Tried connecting a mike from a phone handsfree, but couldn't get that to work.
...if you treat yourself to the matching Archos helmet cam it's got a built in mic on the on/off remote - although that does mean that it picks up wind noise a bit.
Good thing about the Archos cam is that it's just got a single cable to the recorder and doesn't need external power.

Yeah, but I already have a bullet cam, and mine is fully waterproof unlike the Archos one (briefly considered splashing out on that, but the lack of waterproofing put me off).
