So i had a slight tree clip incident about 10 days ago, assumed 2 staved fingers and taped them up and got on with my holiday ( surfing, hiking, running and some gentle cycling)
Back to work yesterday and something clicked in my hand when driving. Thought an xray would be a good idea, turns out i have a spiral fracture of the 5th metacarpal. Plastered from end of fingers to 3 inches below the elbow.
With a week of healing already done how long do you all reckon I'm off the road (work as a regional sales rep so no driving makes work impossible)
I had a full cast on for 2 weeks (back in 2000) followed by another 3-4 weeks wearing a very small cast going from the tip of my little finger to my wrist joint. I managed to karate chop the tarmac while landing on the ground after a motorcycle accident. - It was my 5th metacarpal as well, just not spiral.
