It’s an odd one. We’re (Cardiff) forecast max 25c and sunny, no more than 20% chance of rain but for most of the day it’s <5% but equally it might be stormy with chance of localised flooding.

We had a good storm down here in Torquay earlier this morning with plenty of rain and a handfull of thunder.

Strange that my 4 year old didn't predict it though. He usually likes to wake us at 4am to tell us there is a storm coming *

*true story bro

Met Office seem to be getting its info from the Daily Express, now?

Actually, just had a look on WeatherProHD and there looks like some fairly heavy precipitation sweeping up across Devon and part of Cornwall towards South Wales.

Looking at the live lightning sites, and there’s nothing new showing across the south-west or Wales right now.

Does he take a Polaroid and sell it to you at an inflated price?

Couple of rumbles of thunder at about 7 and then 3-4 hours of fairly sustained rain. Clearing now and I reckon it’ll be hero dirt time by the time I go riding this evening.

Ridiculous that it's being reported as "met office gives first thunderstorm warning in 164 year history"

Then when you read the the story, thunderstorm warnings were only introduced last month!

It's a bit far out but there's a dollop of rain splodges on the radar that are showing as white meaning >32mm/hour currently over southern Somerset that might hit us in Cardiff.

Slashed it down here about 15 miles west of Exeter earlier.  Now like a sauna outside.

Dry as here in South Worcester and we really  need a good  soaking.

No rain in Southampton all day despite the updated warning at 1007, but it's easily been the hottest and most humid day of the heatwave. I wasn't prepared to cycle at ~10mph to make my water last longer than ~2 hours, it would have helped if I had been ready to go at 0630ish but even then it was a barmy 18C!

Had a few raindrops here in Cardiff and on my ride, they some local Strava mates posted about having been soaked riding on the other side of the city.

Hot and dry in Lancs. Yesterday's Tour de Pendle diverted to the friendly Clarion House near Nelson where we were given pint mugs of tea for 55p and then to the Swan With Two Necks, Nigel Evans's local, for a pint. I hit 53.5 mph down The Nick, heading for the pub stop.
