I seem to have lost a lot of info on my memory stick, (ALL) is there any way of retrieving it? And before you ask, no I had not backed it up recently. 🙁

Probably. Have a google for card recovery software. The one I used you can try for free and it'll show what can be recovered. Pay your £20 (or whatever) for the full version and it'll do the recovery.
