Where do you end up there mate? I've descended down from the cross a few times (newish to the area) but just on obvious bws and it's a lot blander than that vid.

Ah, the familiar barking dogs early on, I always say hello to them.

I did know their names at one point, we met the owners in the pub in Mellor one evening 🙂

Thks nbt. I've been turning right through the golf course then down linnet clough. OK, but needs a bit extra to liven it up.

Whatever you do, don't go 'the other way' - the people there have pitchforks, machine guns, RPGs and stuff and aren't afraid to use them...

I wonder if the dogs are distantly related to the very cross-patchety German shepherds who live chained-up next to a farm house on the Monk's Road. I guess being chained-up all day long would make you cross.

Anyway...

Did anybody spot the small dog behind the mountain biker who was coming up. Lucky the dog just froze, or it may have been run over. Close!!

now you're on the mailinglist you;ll have to get out with us. We'll show you scout's honour - I'm chuffed that I rode into it and rode the hard exit out of it in the pouring rain last wednesday night

On the section that descends through the golf course (near to the end of the video clip), there's a nice little drop.

That 'nice little drop' is getting bigger and bigger with all the recent rain !! Adds to the fun.. We met a Deer stood in the path one evening. I'm not sure who was more surprised?? 😯

At 1:24 - is that not the site of the 'trail improvements' a few weeks ago on here?

Yes, however the trail improvements are 'no more', infact the wheel sized drop over the step has got so big, I got off and walked it on Sunday 🙁

nigelsnape - I too saw a couple of roe deer at the start of the Linnets clough climb a few weeks ago, beautiful to watch.

I rode that on the cross bike the other week and I am a rubbish rider, so it can't be even remotely hard. I did see the rubble but just assumed someone had run out of space under their patio and was burying victims al fresco with a nice glass of chianti on the side...

I bet there are bits of bone and decomposing flesh all over the trail now 🙄

We did indeed ride up that track. Next time you're ooop North we'll go riding, that's if it ever stops raining.
