I have a starting value - let's say 50k (A)
I have a target value - let's say 300k (B)
I have a number of months - let's say 12 (C)

I'm trying to work out the monthly growth rate (as a %age) that is required for A to grow to B over the period C. My GCSE maths was a long time ago and I'm suffering brain fade. Help me out with the formula I need...

300/50 = 6

6^(1/12) = 1.16103667237

About 16%

(B/A)^(1/C)-1

I pray I’ve not made a blunder here, as I shall never live it down.

(B/A)^(1/C)

In your example, 1.16103 or grow 16% each month approx

Assuming it grows on a monthly basis.
