Does anyone know where i could purchase a chip type timing system for doing "mates races" type of thing ?
Ive seen the freelap watch style thing but that doesnt work due to number of mates, thats why we were looking at the chips.
cheers D

Couple of radios, a stopwatch, and a pen is all you need.

Chip timing system will set you back a couple of grand.

we did our first one on suday there with no problems with the walkie talkie and stop watch method.

you don't even need the radios really just two stopwatches and make sure people start 'on the minute'.

Aye, synchronise watches and you can be pretty accurate without a stopwatch, just keep a note of start / finish times.

We run up to 100 riders with 2 clocks & 2 stop watches, riders all go 'on the minute' apart from wee youngsters who go on 30seconds to give a longer gap to next rider. Radios are used if someone falls or jump starts and gets a penalty.
