We are in the process of trying to sell or rent out Mrs J's grandmother's retirement flat in Kendal.

It's been on the market for a year or so with little interest and so I've been tasked with the job of sorting it out.

So my plan of action include:
1. Change the estate agent dealing with it - and set up regular update meeting with them.
2. Get it into Gumtree
3. Look into getting it into the local NW papers (Bolton, Manchester etc.), as I think that there are probably folk who would consider a second retirement bolt hole / flat in a central location on the edge of the Lake District.

Other than dropping the price - its already at rock bottom TBH, what else should I be thinking about?

Oh and its here if anyone has any more suggestions / ideas

I inherited a flat in London along with my 3 brothers

in the end we decided to simply rent it out as the market was so slow,

That is my preferred option too.

I somehow missed the 'my' out of that sentence and read it as you inheriting a flat and 3 brothers. I was quite concerned that you were renting them out 😀

Not a bad idea Binners 🙂

Anyway, it's worked out well for us
The place needed a bit of work but we managed to get a tennant to live there at a heavy discout whilst the work was being done
By the end of this year we'll be 3 years in and into good profit
