[Closed] Manchester plummer for a quick job??

Can anyone recommend a plummer for a small job in Withington?

The toilet won't stop flushing and having a quick look at it myself it looks as though the tank ball isn't properly creating a seal, therefore not allowing the tank to fill.

It might be a quick fix or there might be new part needed. Thanks

It could be that the float isn't rising enough to close the ball valve.

Pull the float arm up... does the water flow stop ?

If so give the float arm a little bend down ... take the arm in both hands, thumbs in the middle and tweek the float side down.

If you are worried about messing it up ... make sure you know where the water supply into the cistern is... normally underneath and locate the isolating valve... IF it all goes wrong (it wont) close this off and resort to plan A

as above, if it's a float on an arm, it can be an easy fix of bending the arm down slightly.

If it's the more recent designs of floats self contained in a vertical tube type arrangement, then it's more tricky and usually means a seals gone or there's some grot stuck under a seal.

Thanks chaps.

I'm afraid this is the case (there is a vertical plastic housing).

I've used Patrick to service our boiler and he did some work for our neighbours.

Based in Chorlton but I'm sure would cover Withington:
