any must go tos?
Knot Bar Fringe on Great Ancoats Street.
Great jukebox, staff are certifiable, brilliant beer, garden out back.
Marble Arch and The Angel on Rochdale Road.
All proper pubs, absolute belters.
They're the only real 'must dos' I can think of.
Curry in Al Faisal or This'n'That to start.
🙂
Port St. Beer house, the castle, trof, marble (bit of a trek but proper boozer.) Cafe beermoth is nice but not technically in nq.
If you're coming in via Piccadilly it would be rude not to pop into the Piccadilly Tap for a couple to warm up. Then I agree with Port Street, a trip to This 'n' That (check opening times they close early some days now) before heading up to the Marble Arch.
Slowoldman nails it
Briton's Protection. Finest whisky selection in the world*, ask for the menu.
(* - possibly)
Castle Hotel (it's a pub), Oldham Rd, is bigger than it looks! rooms over two storeys and bands on in the room behind the bar, did I mention real ale win win.
Apart from the ones above...
Soup Kitchen has a lovely porter on (bit of a hipster place though).
Tib Street Tavern.
Tariff and Dale.
Briton's Protection
Not in the Northern Quarter.
Quality boozer though.
Have a look if the runaway brewery or cloud water brewery have a brew tap on that day
Try the Spice Lounge in Shudehill for a curry afterwards.
WE're already booked in the Spice Lounge 🙂
if you're doing the crawl on the weekend and there's a big group of you, be prepared for a cluster****; the bars on the main strip get very busy - the ones rusty and slowoldman mentioned are better for groups
Matt and Phreds has some good music to listen too, not strictly a pub mind you.
Burger at Almost Famous?
