Having an issue where Time Machine won’t complete a backup - gets so far through then fails. Not sure exactly what’s going on; disc is a few years old 3Gb WD in a USB caddy.
I think it started around the time of Mac OS 12 - anyone else having similar?
I have had no problems. 3gb seems small, do you mean 300gb or 3Tb? I am using a ten year old 500Gb WD HD to back up an on board 250Gb HD, perhaps I should think about alternating drives like my brother does.
3Tb, which is permanently connected to the computer. I’ve got a 1Gb pocket drive which is used for less frequent backups.
Apparently this is a known issue with Mac OS 12. The recommended fix is to boot into safe mode then back up, which is what I'm trying.
It just works, doesn't it?
Ok, so we have a successful backup in safe mode, but using safe mode is a PITA - e.g. no sound.
