I've got a early 2015 MacBook Pro retina running latest version of El Capitan. I was just checking my emails when the keyboard and mouse became unresponsive. Cursor didn't move or click and couldn't type anything.
I held the power button down for few seconds and it switched off. Powering back up on the login screen nothing works again. After a while a message comes up saying it's looking for a keyboard.
Is there a master reset on these things? I don't have another keyboard or mouse to try with it? I've got a lot of work to fo today so any help would be appreciated.
After the 8th restart it's come back to life. Anyone now what's wrong?
Hardware fault is my guess. Book an appointment at Apple
Fire up "console" and look in the logs at the times the problems occurred.
I'd try an SMC reset:

Back-up first.
