It's the wife's 40th tomorrow and I want to take her for lunch in Edinburgh on the way to her mothers.
Now I really don't want to be going right into the center if I can help it, and Michelin starred dining is not really her thing, thinking more like Leith area, that sort of thing (although I work near Tanfield and can use the work car-park for as long as I need)
Cheers
Earthy near us in Canonmills is good. Pricy but good.
Domenico's on Sandport St is nice if you like Italian.
Don't let the sandwich service at the front put you off, the food and service is top notch.

these guys seem to get good reviews http://www.bondno9.co.uk, I think Diner7 would suit me more than her
spoilt down at the shore...fishers is still good although fishy, malmaison is down theyre also...loads of choice down theyre 😀
According to my mate Mike, it's apparently well worth travelling all the way into the city centre to visit a few of the bars next to the playhouse.. Top nosh according to him!
La Favorita on Leith Walk, best Italian in town.
No no no no no. There is only one place to consider. The King's Wark
I've opted for Bond No.9, gets good reviews and not quite the greasy spoon I would normally think of going to (Frankie and Benny's again???)
Guess we'll see what we'll see
