I need to re-tap a piece (that currently has a 5/8 UNF thread) with a M16 x 1.5mm thread.
It should be simple as they are the same diameter but the pitch is smaller on the UNF thread. I'm not really keen on spending £40 on a tap I'm only going to use once and the piece is a little big to easily take to an engineers.
So if anybody has a LEFT HAND m16 x 1.5mm tap I could borrow I'd be very interested and would happily donate a few beer tokens.

Have you got a spare lh bolt?. In the past I've cut slots along the length to make a makeshift tap, if its already tapped at the wrong pitch it should work.

It's for my screw log splitter. The tip of the cone can be replaced but I can only get M16 x 1.5. It's left hand to stop the tip unscrewing deep in a log!
