I have just entered the London to Paris for Action research. Looks like a great ride and you get to see the last day of the TDF, Cavendish win Green and Wiggins take Yellow.
Has anyone out there done it / doing it and are there any hints and tips about the ride that you think would help a first time rider (first time on a multi day organised ride).

I entered it 4 years ago but had to pull out through illness. I will be having another go this year though! Which route are you doing? I can help you on the route which goes through Kent to Calais as it virtually goes past my house!
I am doing route one - first day is 89 miles from Blackheath through Kent to the Dover calais Ferry. It is the longest day of the four.
