Went a few years ago and it was ok, though sure I read it was a bit rubbish last year.
Well Bristol Bike Fest it ain't, more a corporate showall. But it is alighned with both the Boat show and Outdoor show, so if you get bored..
I went last year and it packed my whole day - we only spent an hour in the Boat show.
Lots of manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and some special show offers, plus all the testing and events.
Already booked tickets for this one. Must remeber to leave the credit card at home else I may end up with a 29er. :-/
Went last year and was done by 1pm. Wasn't too impressed with the bike stuff on offer but did have a look around the outdoors bit. Might be a bit more interesting this year as I need some kit for a trip next summer.
If you can get free/cheap tickets I think it's worth the visit but i'd not pay full price for a ticket.
Part of the fun is getting ignored by the staff that look after the huge yachts.
Been to quite a few bike shows now, the first couple of years when it was at Earls Court and full of thousand yard stares all looking for a deal, so the first year of the combined bike/boat show was refreshing in the quality of the visitor, this obviously from one who would peddle his wares.
So when I say quality, I mean they were interested in cycling and taking it up or buying a bike and or wondering at the displays that were there, rather than milling around mildly disinterested as had been the case of typical cycle shows.
People that define themselves as cyclists are a really weird bunch, humans that cycle or mountain bike amongst other (action) sports are not, you get more of the latter at the London Bike/Boat show.
So is it worth going to, yes most definitely.
