Grrr and Brrr
Still had sap in when I split them! So much for locally sourced and enviro friendly. The last lot from somewhere a long way away were at least dry when they arrived.

Unseasoned logs give off plenty of smoke and soot too which clog up the old chimney with tarry shit! Ring the supplier and don the flame thrower!!!

Buy some kiln dried logs from certainly wood. They burn beatifully well.

Did you buy seasoned logs?
I wouldnt want to burn anything thats not been seasoned for 12 months other than Ash. You have got to think a year ahead if wanting to get through the winter just buying from anywhere, otherwise buy from a supplier that guarantees dried/seasoned supply.
