Just a heads up to anyone who may be affected
Lloyds are having problems with their debit cards at the minute - had to wait on hold for half an hour to find this out after having card declined at petrol station and ATM

Mine just worked a treat in a Lloyd's ATM
I used my Halifax card (same system) earlier and it was fine
girlfriends was declined in Aldi and petrol station.
Waited 49 mins on hold before giving up. Glad it's not just her.

Was just on the news as being a big issue.
It's a long time since I left so this could be out of date but the lloyds/halifax/hbos merger/boarding process went like this:
1) Compare systems and decide which is best
2) Use the Lloyds one anyway even when it was rubbish.
3) Where changes to systems are required, half-ass it.
4) Person in charge takes bonus then leaves to work for another bank.
Well that explains that card declined when filling up the car earlier fortunately the Mrs is with barclays

Missus with Lloyds, will find out if hers works later on. Rbs embarassed me two months ago, big shop in Asda card declined 👿
