Mrs J want a vehicle which she can get a bike with both wheel on into the back, but must still have at least 3 usable seats and must be petrol
These 2 would do the trick, but they are both pretty long in the tooth.
Anything else to look at - oh and it can't be too big 🙄
Parking sensors, bluetooth and inbuilt satnav would be good too.
Yeti
Or Roomster
A bike with both wheels on in a yeti?
Ford Tourneo Connect?
are you looking new or used?
The Kangoo is still about but pretty seldom seen on UK roads - theres a Merc badged version that takes the ugly base car and makes it uglier. Both are very much function over form.
The Yeit and Roomster aren't as voluminous as berlingo class of vehicles
Most of these vehicles are comparatively short compared to big estate cars so as big a volume of space as they offer inside both wheels on (depending on the bike) is pretty optimistic. My Prime is nearly 6ft 6 long, there aren't many/any cars that have room for two of them without taking a front seat out. 🙂
New? You can get the VW Caddy in various permutations including as a window van with seats with a 1.2 or 1.4 TSI petrol these days.
Peugeot Partner has/can be specced with three proper sized front seats
Peugeot Partner has/can be specced with three proper sized front seats
There can be 3 seats up front in the van version (not sure if they do this in the car variant) - I don't think adding the third seat results in anything 'proper sized' though. In the two seat version the space where the third seat would be houses an armrest / cubby hole thats only about 6inches wide so having two passengers seats results in two pretty cramped and awkward passengers. Both of whom would have plenty of time to dwell on how much easier it would be to spend 30 seconds taking a front wheel off a bike than sit on each others laps for the whole journey 🙂
Ah, googled and it must have come up with the interior of the large van

The 'Life' version is the car like interior. However, the current Caddy design dates from 2004. Current generation Berlingos and equivalent released in 2008. Ford Torneo Connect is the most recent technology by many years isn't it - 2013 release?
