I've just bought some new light switches and the existing (ancient) wall boxes are very shallow. So the new switch which has more inside than the old ones don't quite sit flush to the wall.

I'm sure I should be able to find a nice surround that will lift the fittings away from the wall creating a bit more space in the wall box. Ideally I'd like something in a period/antique style, maybe plain dark wood. But failing that, anything that will do the job.

I know they're out there but my Googling skills are weak today.

Any help?

They're not held in stock everywhere, but they do exist

Go to your local joiner and ask them to make something for you.

Or you could put some Fablon on the plastic one.

Like that but a bit bigger.

They're exactly the same size as the fittings I've got (93mm)
