[Closed] Light bulb replacements - G4 halogens to LED?

Dear SingleTrack Hive Mind,

I've two fancy looking ceiling lights in my living room that use those little G4 halogen lights. The really little ones that are about an inch long. They look great but the bulbs _keep_ blowing!
I've looked for LED equivalents but I can't find any. Do they exist?

Thanks.

If they are the low voltage ones then yes.
Sounds like you have M47's - Google it. The LED equivalent is a small disc so it depends if your fitting can hide them?

Perhaps a stupid question, but do you handle the bulbs with gloves on when changing them? Grease, dirt, oil on them dramatically reduces their life.

I fitted a new light fitting at the weekend that came with halogen bulbs & they even supplied it with plastic gloves to wear while fitting the bulbs.

M47 looks about right. They are quite bright lights. They are hidden inside glass sleeves so it doesn't matter how they look.
I'm struggling to find a site listing them. Any pointers?

I usually fit the bulbs holding them with a new bit of kitchen paper. They don't go immediately. Some have worked for ages but I still seem to get through a fair number a year. More than you'd really want to get through considering how much they cost.

Cool.
I'll have a look at Deltech.
Are you connected with Deltech?
Thanks.
