Looking at getting some Life Insurance for me and the wife not looking to spend loads a month £20 for both policies over 25yrs.
So whats the difference of buying a policy online or through a broker ? I have spoken to a broker and to be fair his prices were slightly cheaper but for the same payouts.
Is there any advantage as to where you buy from ?
If there are any brokers on here maybe you can help !
anyone from the day time crew shed any light ?
wow normally you lot have a comment to make about most things my post must be unbelievably dull !
I bought mine through a broker, who advised us on the advantages of different approaches with policies. Beyond that, I used a broker precisely so I wouldn't have to do the shopping around myself, or give it any further thought.
Hopefully it will never have to be used.
I need to sort some cover out too so would be interested to hear some more views. Had a quick look through MSE the other night and went onto a few of the online brokers for quotes. They claim to be cheaper as they take minimal commission as you're not paying for the advice. Depends how confident you feel in picking your own products rather than getting an expert to assist.
Let us know how you go.
Have a hunt around and then speak to a broker. There are some insurers who only deal with brokers. Also the brokers do all the work especially if the insurance company is being a pain in the arse. If it turns out the insurance is not really valid for your needs then you can always claim against the broker for bad advice. Just that in its self makes it worth while.
Brokers are especially good is you have odd (not the right word) circumstances like you are self employed, not married, company director, etc
Brokers can also advise on combining policies such as life and critical illness.
I'd say go to a broker, but then i would as it is one of the things i do.
As per points above, makes your life easy and can look around at lots of products, but possibly more importantly have ability to look at best products - cheapest ain't necessarily best. In addition, in the hopefully extremely unlikely event of a claim we would deal with it, rather than the survivor having to deal with an insurer. Also there are loads of options/ ways of setting things up right, and also lots of ways of doing it wrong.
if of interest pm me (if possible, not sure) - or put a reply below. i don't particuarly want to publicise my email to the world.
endurobadger +1 for all the same reasons. 🙂
