Usually by this time of October we are experiencing a low budget WW1 reenactment but it seems a bit quieter this year.

We had a reenactment of Ypres a week while ago.
Literally just witnessed a bunch of throbbers launching rockets at houses and cars as they walk by.
A bit more chilled out this year in East London for sure, as above it's prob been the rain putting people off

Has there been new laws on selling of them? Does seem quieter.
It’s certainly been quiet around here, there was one loud bang yesterday evening, but that’s been it so far. Most of next week is going to be wet, so probably not much going on then, either.

Pathetic! They could have built a raft out of pallets and stacked more on top and set light to it as it drifted gently around the field. No danger of setting light to dry grass and destroying an entire row of houses, either; just let it burn down to the waterline then it puts itself out!

Diwali falls on Nov 4th this year. Last year it was 24th October. That could be a contributing factor.

Yes I had an uncle who used to hide in the cellar for days during November sleeping on an old mattress and wearing ear plugs. He was the perfect gentleman the rest of the year but just hated the sudden explosions that was associated with November.
Like the decline in football hooliganism and many other things, stuff like this is usually massively affected by the availability and quality of drugs
You’ll probably find the country is presently awash with oodles of cheap, weapons-grade MDMA so going out in the rain and chucking fireworks at people is much lower down the average scrotes list of priorities

Someone let a few off near me last night (I wish they'd start with a mild one rather than a window-shaking one so I don't crap myself...), I expect there will be plenty tonight.
My daughter’s ballet school had to lock themselves in the building on Tuesday night as a bunch of chavs turned up and started letting off fireworks in the car park. Police actually appeared reasonable quick which was a surprise, but too late to do anything.
We seem to get it for the whole of October and November due to Diwali, Halloween, and the 5th, someone’s birthday, someone’s anniversary, someone’s graduation from play school, someone got out of bed.
When I’m global overlord, they’ll be banned instantly.
