Need to be back in blighty ASAP as the old man is on his last breath.

Anyone know if it's possible to turn up at Calais without a reservation or do I need a pre-booked ticket?

Been trying to book the van on for tomorrow evening, but both the website and app keep kicking back a message saying there's a problem with payment.

Tried it once but rock up price was mental so we went to the ferry.

For some reason we couldn't book on our phone, but we could see the website and prices online were way less than buying in person

Sorry to hear of your dilemma. Try booking through ferries.co.uk etc - maybe their payment thing will work properly. IIRC you can book trains or ferries on there.

For tonight, last train deps Calais at 2316, £214 for a normal car. Last ferry deps Calais at 0235, £141 for a normal car.

Good luck 👍

When you drive up there is always the option of "without reservation"

Won't be cheap, but you can. No school holidays for a bit so will be fine for getting on

Booked..... Had to get the laptop out, but it's done.

238€ with Flexi booking. 4 hours leeway each way. Currently in Switzerland and it's been snowing all day. The Swiss are pretty good with clearing the roads. Hopefully the Autobahn through Germany will be clear.

Cheers for the replies, folks.....

See you soon.

Good luck on the UK side. We aren’t good at clearing the roads or driving in snow…
