my laptop screen is buggered. big crack in it 🙁

I have used these people to repair a dell with a broken screen. They picked it up and sent it back working for £115+VAT.

am now rocking the old dell 15" monitor running through the lappers. much brighter! feels kinda Matrix 🙂
Panels vary by manufacturer, but you may find common ground. For example, Samsung ship panels into Dell among others.
Best thing you can do is either strip it down or look at the service manual to get the part number. Removing the panel is easy enough, chances are if something doesn't come off you've forgotten a screw somewhere. The only fiddly task is removing the plastic fascia around the edge as it may be glued or taped onto the screen and will have some wee clips you need to remove first.
