[#2166329]

So my current PC is on the last legs and I need to replace it.

My budget is £300/400 but if I'm honest I really done know where to start.

So the question is "What would you buy"

Cheers

Something branded rather than one of these happy shopper outings. Toshiba, Dell, HP / Compaq, IBM / Levono, etc etc, are generally safe bets. Sony are good but overpriced. This being STW, someone will be along shortly to tell you to buy a Mac.

Reasonable, though I'd question the sensibility of 3Gb of RAM and a 64-bit OS.

Really though, before commenting on system specs I'd need to know what you're using it for. Web? Games? CAD? Desktop publishing? Downloading pr0n?

You start with "what do I want to do with the laptop", and hopefully get to a point where you will get the laptop that fits your needs.

On the way we will take a walk together past an idiot that will tell you to get a Mac.
