Just setting up a phoneline and broadband for a house I've just bought and moved into. Any recommendations?
As I've got an O2 contract phone with 400 spare minutes on it a month I'm thinking of getting standard BT phone line at £11.54 line rental and then getting O2 for internet which is £7.50. Believe O2 broadband came top of a Which? report.
Or do I just go with someone like talktalk and get a package for £18.50 inc line rental

The O2 deal looks pretty good, have heard some not so great things about Talk Talk in the past.
Though everything can totally depend on your postcode. Some are much faster than others dependent on postcode. Where I live, Sky is the fastest and most reliable, and seeing as we wanted Sky TV too, it made sense to go with our Broadband and Phoneline through Sky too...
check your exchange can give you the 7.50 deal - i have to pay 17.50 because of exchange - rules out most of the cheap deals ....
one thing to bear in mind is that the helpline for o2 is a freephone 0800 number.
myy router gave up the ghost over hte holidays and i had to go through the script with them on the phone which takes around an hour .....before they would sent it out ! that would have been horrendous if paying for it !
Yep i can get the 7.50 deal as the local exchange is unbundled.
I'd have thought you'd only have one local exchange to choose from so the speed would be fairly fixed due to your distance to the exchange?
still not sure whether to go package deal or seperates...
ah. just realised that if I rent a room or two out as is the hopeful plan the unlimited downloads of O2 could be more useful than the 50p saving on talktalk.
Holy what the hell - £125 re-connection fee for BT!!
