Kitchen and flooring is currently being ripped out to dry the floor following a flood. We'll be having a new kitchen installed hopefully in the next 4-6 weeks once everything is dry and the new floor laid.

The fitter we're using has an account with Howdens so we're likely to get the kitchen from them. Howdens supply integrated appliances from a company called Lamona. My sister has had the same for a couple of years and hasn't had any problems.

Anyone else got any Lamona appliances (cooker, washer, tumble drier and dishwasher)? Are they reliable?

BTW we're not incredibly "Kitchen" minded we just want stuff that'll work when we need it, don't really need bells and whistles.

The fitter we're using passes on his trade discount, so we just pay him to do the work. So these appliances work out extremely competitive.

Had a lamona integrated cooker and gas hob before. Only 1 year of use mind, but no problems. Oven ran 10% hotter than stated though.

We had 2 ovens and a microwave when we put a new kitchen in. One of the ovens failed in the first year and had an element replaced under warranty. An element in the same oven has now failed.

The other oven and the microwave are fine.

They are bargain basement quality IMO. I dont think I'd use them again for appliances. I'd get hold of a copy of Which and use that to source them on the internet.

Lamona are def bottom of the pile in terms of outright quality. The trade dscount your chap will get will not really work out much cheaper than doing some google-ing. I did my kitchen with the father in law who has a trade accound, and desptite getting around 50-60% of the kitchen carcasses / worktops/doors etc, the applicances you don't get the same discount on. Go and get some Bosch/Meil/Smeg stuff the quality is soooo much better, i do however still have lamona gas hob (get the the cast iron inserts as the steel ones are utter cheap sh it).

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Just doing a bit of googling suggests that Lamona is made by Beko. We've been happy with our Beko fridge freezer... but we weren't planning on getting a Lamona fridge freezer!

Further googling gives good feedback for the Lamona dishwasher, but not so good for the washing machines or cooker.

I'll report back to the OH (boss) and see what she thinks.

We've got a Howden's kitchen in our new build with integrated Lamona hob and cooker.

The fan oven is really efficient and actually pretty good quality. The hob is just OK - works fine but the finish isn't all that great and the knobs are bit flimsy and not particularly heat resistant.

Cooker hood is pretty shoddy - bits started falling off it after about 3 weeks, and the fan sounds like a Vulcan bomber taking off, but not in a good way.

If you've got a choice (we didn't), I'd aim for better quality stuff if you can.

I fit kitchens and lamona is Howdens own branded goods.
Bottom end of the scale tbh. Spend a bit extra and get something better.

The house we moved into had a very new Howdens kitchen with integrated Dishwasher and washing machine.
Less than three years old, and both packed up within a fortnight of each other.
Parts were hard to get hold of, Howdens were pretty unhelpful so I gave up, wrote them off and replaced them both.
Would never buy another one.
