Looking to get away in late February. Not sure where in the lake's so i'm open to suggestions, ideally with good access to some nice walks and a few short loops on the bike. I'll be going with MrsScunny and our 2 dogs but will be able to fit my bike in the back of the car.

Not been to the Lakes since I was 10 so open to suggestions

We usually rent a little cottage in Keswick in February (but if you want 1/2 term week it's already booked by us!). Only one bedroom but allows dogs and plenty of room to store two bikes inside too.

Loads of walks from the door or a short drive away, and decent riding too - Borrowdale Bash, Lonscale Fell, Skiddaw - and Whinlatter is easily rideable to (or a 5 minute drive).

Can't remember the company we go through (Zoe sorts all that stuff out), but it's something like Cumbrian Cottages.

Colournoise - care to say which cottage in Keswick?

We have booked a lot with Coniston coppermine cottages - really nice spec with leather sofas etc, many take dogs too. South lakes only though, Never found anywhere near as nice spec for the cash in the north lakes.
