Had a meeting with one of my tutors today and he was using one of these (varier variable) and he was pretty taken with it. Has one in uni and one at home, said it took a while to adjust but he thought it was great. Anyone here using one? If they were a bit cheaper I'd be tempted to through some cash at it, end up with a stiff back after sitting revising

I've got one.
Initially it feels great, but after a while I find I'm slouching far more than I would in a conventional chair. Nevertheless they do seem to work for others.

The Varier Variable, bought it cheaper than on your link several years ago, but still wasn't cheap!

Incidentaly scrolling further down that page, I notice that they offer ones with back supports for if you're using the chair for a long time. Which kinda tallies with my experience

I find them great for making you sit up straight, they seem to cut off circulation to my feet though

There are some big claims in their adverts. How exactly are they good for your back? And how do they improve your health?

I had a cheap kneeling chair back when I was a student. I found it stopped me from slouching and kept me in work mode. A comfortable chair would see me off getting distracted by the Internet rather than writing. Don't think I'd like one now in the office tho.
