I've looked for old threads on this but couldn't find a reasonably modern one. so apologies in advance if this has been done.
My knees are not as strong as they once were and I'm hoping to get a week skiing in this season. i know that my leg strength isn't what it should be either but working on that too.
Is there any type of knee brace that people use to help support the lateral and squatting motions of skiing? there seems to be a wide range of styles and prices and probably quality out there. there seems to be a lot of copies too that may or may not be as good as the more expensive ones hence looking for first hand experiences please
TIA
When I spoke to a physio about this, his view was that unless they were the ones with lots of metal and hinges that are custom made to your specific movement patterns, they were useless. They don’t offer any support at all.
At best they keep the joint warm and the compression can feel good. But they’re not really doing anything.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this knee brace which costs £11 delivered

helped me get back into running and don’t use it anymore now my strength has returned, and not as substantial nor costly as the robocop versions, if you have any form of ‘cycling’ legs, size up from their measurement chart

@SYZYGY
This looks ideal for me. Has this brace got any neoprene in it?
I'm allergic to neoprene and looking at options that don't use it.
