Hi All
In the market for a new kitchen, just wondering whats the average price for installation these day, existing kitchen has 14ish wall and base units so the new kitchen will be somewhere near the same
Depends on far too many things that aren’t really possible to cover in a few lines of text.
Sorry, I know that’s not particularly helpful, but there are soooo many things that will change what price will be quoted, the number of cupboards is just one of them.
For example, something simple like where you source your kitchen units from could potentially Double/Half the installation cost (not quite, but just for example)
Carcasses already built up so is installation worktops etc
That makes a difference. But still nowhere near enough information to go on I’m afraid.
I am not being difficult, but it really is impossible to guage.
Get some quotes and see what they come in at ?
You will be able to spot the “too cheap” and “don’t really want to do it, to high” quotes easily enough.
Then pick one of the others that seemed reliable and fair ?
As above too many variables to give a real guide price.
How much is needed to adjust and relocate existing pipework for sinks, washing machines, dishwashers, gas or electric hobs, any additional electrical sockets wanted? Or need to be moved?
What type of worktops. Laminate, solid wood, granite/stone
I could give you a price for fitting if you had a design in place, I'm Hertfordshire based and fit kichens all over London, Hertfordshire and Essex.
Best thing to do, have a think of designs you like, go look at some suppliers, just avoid Wren!
Carcasses already built up so is installation worktops etc
Where is the profit for the fitter?
if you have the carcasses built up. Roughly in place what are they going to do? Just cut and plonk the work surfaces in place? Or installing appliances, sinks etc.
i doubt many people will be interested in just dropping the work surfaces in, it sounds like a massive hassle for not much return
the amount they will want to charge may not be conducive with doing it on the cheap and the ones who are doing it cheap may not be the people you want doing it.
there used to be companies that would come in and replace work surfaces but that was normally if you bought it from them.
Similar amount of units to you was £1400 for me 8 days work, slightly complex layout in an 8x3 m room. Probably at the cheaper end of the scale.
8 days for 14 units and tops?? I'd want to have it finished in 3-4.
Approx £50 per unit for fitting, end panels/filler £10 ea.
I charge worktops (laminate) at £100 for the 1st mitre and £50 thereafter, £25 for cutouts and £10 for finished ends. So a U shape with Sink and hob and 2 open ends would be £100+50+25+25+10+10=£220.
Sink fit and connection is £85, Gas hob is £90 with cert. Appliances are £15 each if free standing £25 if fitted, £50 integrated.
This is very rough pricing though and included no electrics or water alterations which are normally always needed.
