It’s the 90th anniversary of the Kinder trespass this weekend. Worth having a read about this important event fighting for the right to roam and remembering those who went to prison for improved access to the countryside for all of us.

for improved access to the countryside for all of us.

So long as we're not on bikes.

But, leaving that aside, agree.

Harsh but fair, coal miners from 90 years ago really should have been thinking about podgy middle aged men on carbon fibre Santa Cruz's.

Selfish gits.

*note not a genuine dig

Amusing (to me).... It's on my birthday and my 'career' has largely been in public rights of way and outdoor access, seems I was born to it 😂, not been on Kinder Scout though 😣

In the spirit of the original trespass surely the ramblers won't mind us turning up en-masse with our bikes will they?

In the Peak District, it's not uncommon for ramblers to object to cyclists in places they're allowed to be, never mind the places they're not! 😉

Seems like an opportune time to share one of my all time favourite folk songs:

My dad taught this to my brother and I as kids (walking over Kinder) along with the story of the mass tresspass. We sung it at his funeral.

Well the ramblers werent a fan of the original trespass at the time so at least they will be consistent.

@crazylegs - oh I know that all right!

If we were to wear red socks ourselves as we did it?
