Morning all. Found keys at the start of the 50 Acre Wood trail this morning. Couldn't see anywhere to hand in lost property.

Q1. Are they yours?

Q2. Any suggestions where to hand them in? I figured Pedal Progression but it was all locked up at that time.

Q3. Should I have just left them there?

Q4. Any suggestions other places I should post this? (No facebook account.)

Might sound crazy, but what about the Police station?

Yeah. Funny the things that don't occur to you early in the morning. I'll see if any police stations are still open in the area. Ta.

That's an idea, cheers Branes.

It seems the nearest police shop is central Bristol (Bridewell) so expect I'll drop it down there later today if possible.

Bump.

Apparently the police don't want door keys that were lost in the woods. Website says they're only interested in hard drugs and weapons.

Leftfield idea - is it worth checking Strava for anyone else cycling that segment this morning/y'day and contacting them through Strava to see if they've lost them?

Are there any abandoned but very new and shiny combine harvesters around?

Plenty of knackered forestry vehicles nearby but nothing worthy of a Wurzel.

Strava is a decent idea. Not something I subscribe to.

Should've left them there imo.. Maybe on top of a fencepost.

Wife dropped our car key once in a park. Everybody drives there as had we so we needed those keys. I retraced our path 3 times while the wife asked around. Luckily we stumbled on the guy that found them. He was planning to drive off with them post something on Facebook when he got home. Well intended but not very useful. If he'd left them on the floor or hung them on a fence I'd have found them on the first retracing.

You're probably right. There's a note pinned there now.
