We will be in touch
About 15 months ago, I posted on here - or rather vented - about my son be diagnosed with kidney failure. It has been a tough 15 months, especially for him as he was on nightly dialysis (at least it could be done at home) while working and commuting to/from London. My wife and I focused on how we could help him, to allow him some spare time. Not what any 27 year old wants.
Anyway 3 weeks ago he got a new kidney, from me. The impact on him is transformational. Physically he looks better, he has more energy, he mentally sharper. He is still recovering from the operation and has a lifetime on drugs, but he is back. I'm sore and in discomfort, but it is so worthwhile.
Our thanks to everyone in the NHS who facilitated this, with all the extra precautions because of Covid-19. The surgeons, doctors, nurses, catering team, cleaning staff, etc. Thanks you. Because of you I can look forward, rather than living in no mans land.
2020 for most people will be a bad year, I will have a different viewpoint.
Brilliant news mate. Well done.
Wow...!
👍
Awesome!
How excellent is that!!! Nice one!
Brilliant!!!
You are absolutely right - that is good news. Great to hear and hope you and he recover well and enjoy life once again!
Amazing. I've seen the transformational effects of kidney transplants almost first hand (a mate and his B-i-L). Has indeed been lifechanging.

Great news - that's some special present you have been able to give your son!
Many of us know from experienece that having kids costs an arm and a leg...but a kidney too!
Well done sir.
Wow, what a gift!
Fantastic dude 👌👊
Amazing stuff...well done you and congratulations.
My father had a Kidney transplant 3 years ago. As with your experience the care from the NHS he received for many years prior (while on dialysis), during and since has been absolutely 1st class. It truly is amazing what the NHS does and how it transforms lives for the better.
Enjoy the future!
