Don't worry, I am a qualified violinist having achieved grade II in 1985 (ish).

No idea what to expect, it might turn out to be rubbish (as might I) but the little Fender amp looks quite nice so it's perhaps not quite bargain bin.

Will I die? No, it is not possible to die from bad violin playing, but my family might wish it were.

I never wanted to learn the violin, especially after my siblings tried to learn it in school, but one of my favourite bands growing up was Ultravox and when when Billy Currie unleashes his electric violin on those songs I still get shivers. Presumably you will sound like my hero?

What size is it? Will you have an actual tiny violin for use at suitable moments?

What size is it? Shit I don't know, it could actually be tiny and the pictures just close up. If I get scammed I'll need a tiny violin anyway so it might work out.

Presumably you will sound like my hero?

I might even become your hero.

As parent to a Grade 8 violinist, who borrowed the school electric violin a few times, the line between sounding brilliant (see Ultravox above) and a strangled cat narrows with every effects pedal used...

I'm feeling very 1980's though as he also plays sax to a good standard too, and is starting to churn out some Baker Street recently...

Good luck setting it up. I've heard it can be a bit of a fiddle.

Check out Ed Alleyne-Johnson particularly Purple Electic Violin Concerto and the Oxford Suite. If you want to see him live pop down to Chester Cross of a Saturday afternoon.
