I thought I would post this here aswell as the bike forum, and before you start, the mods do know about this.

I would be grateful if you would peruse and answer a few questions on my scientifically designed questionnaire.

I am basically looking to see what the level of interest or potential interest there is in competing or participating in races abroad, particularly Madrid, Spain. And whether it will be worth pursuing the idea further from the Madrid Cycling Federation point of view.

There are only 10 questions to begin with as I'm too tight fisted to pay for a proper survey, so treat me gently.

Thanks for your time. Muchas gracias

done.

Nice, quick survey. Questions that are easy to answer - not wishy washy.

Good effort. Nothing worse that starting a survey and then wondering if it will ever end!

You want me to complete some cheap online survey? I will treat you with the contempt you deserve unless you bring your survey in person and pay the appropriate fee. I may, for a higher fee, complete your online survey but I shan't do it until next week.

Does that seem reasonable?

Question 3 would be better with square tick boxes so you can tick 1, 2 or 3; I have competed locally, nationally and abroad 🙂

I'm not really sure how fast sound travels, but the raspberry I'm blowing in your general direction should arrive about the same time you complete the survey.

Everyone else a heartfelt thanks.
iDave, you'll have mail later.

Thanks for the positive comments, limited to ten questions really focuses the mind and I can see that a couple of questions are not really useful, Q3 will require deleting the recorded data before changing, sorry-live and learn, but not bad for a first attempt though. 😀

Not wishing to bore you, but one final bump ton and the other insomniacs and I'll post some findings later for a bit of a free for all discussion, again many thanks.

Done.

Ticked nationally as that's most of them but also local and abroad too.

Cheers chaps, I know about Q.3. 😳

From the finding so far:

Most folks are into XC and/or long distance races (if I missed anything add it here, unicycling 24 hour events might be a bit too niche!!)
The main obstacle were cost, logistics, time and at a lower level knowing the competition level.
The free for all in Q.5 pretty much reflected the above but with some really good ideas to think about.

I'm not really sure about Q.8 and seeing the organising of a trip being part of the adventure, that for me doesn't really fit with logistics being a barrier. Probably the way I've worded the question though.

I was surprised at the split between those who had travelled abroad for cycling and those who hadn't.

Much as would like, I can't influence the cost of air travel. 😥

I guess that if you want to add anything else here, feel free.

Thanks again and it's still active. 😆
