The Pulteney has been winking at me for too long.

Love both! Find O.P. to be a bit Dalwhinnie-ish, smooth, steady & easy to drink, Superstition a bit more complicated but just as nice. (IMO)

Nonsense, a teardrop can transform the flavour, the trick is putting in the bare minimum.

Jura is the Famous Grouse of single malts IMO, on the other hand Old Pulteney is a work of art. You now know which one i would choose :-).

And to prove i am not a complete whisky nobber i recently bought a bottle of Glen Moray and it was excellent 🙂

Just finished a bottle of Teachers and cracked open a bottle of Jura, washed down with ginger ale, bloody lovely, up to 2 months ago I wasn't a whisky drinker, I am now!

Superstition is nice.
Origin is meh.
Elixir is evil. Must come from the same barrels as Innis and Gunn as it gives me the same hideous hangovers from the same ridiculously small quantities.

Old Pulteney, Jura is rubbish, with added colouring.

Old Pulteney really is a wonderful drop.

Superstition's alright but when Talisker's knocking about for £2 more it's not really worth it (still a good value step up from grain-heavy blends).

Old Pulteney is a cracker though, maybe not as many flavours but much more refined. I tried it again last night after trying Jura Turas-Mara and it just seemed much more "full-bodied".

My tip for cheap peaty business is The Ileach, think it's just watered down (40% vs 56%) - though they do a cask strength- young Lagavulin.

NOT OP: My best deals this Christmas were Ardbeg 10 from Booths for £32 and A'bunadh for £35 from Tesco.

My mother in law has just given me a bottle of Jura Superstition.

Hasn't got a clue about whisky, but bought it for me because it was expensive.

Just about to open it now, I'm sure she won't like the slightly peated taste, there's a pity.......
