Hi All

I want to use Google Chrome as my default email browser on my iPad2 but apparently I need to jailbreak it to turn off Safari.

Anybody else done it and did you have any issues?

Do you have to jailbreak it again everytime there is an update?

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Ken

Used to have this one jail broken. You just don't do updates from Apple, basically - well sometimes you can if you back stuff up and it's an update that's still breakable.

Serious question, what's wrong with Safari? Why do people feel the need to fiddle....?

Changing from Deore to XTR has benefits you can feel. So, I'll rephrase...
Why is Chrome better than Safari? 🙂

Reasons Chrome is betterer:

Ability To Open Unlimited Tabs
Search And Surf Using Omnibox
Ability To Sync With Other Devices
Private Browsing With Incognito
Voice Search
Better Keyboard

Anybody else done it and did you have any issues?

I've JB'd and set Chrome as the default browser, no problems.

How many tabs do you NEED to open on a small iPad screen? 10 seems enough for me.
Dunno what Omnibox is. Don't use it, so that's no use to me.
I only have Apple devices and they all synch beautifully
WHat's private browsing? What are you hiding?
Voice search? My iPad has that. Doesn't yours?
Keyboard? Whats wrong with the Apple one? I think it's fine.

🙂

Chrome also allows you to share tabs across all your devices, e.g. whatever's open on your laptop at work can be accessed on your iPhone at home blah blah.

Tis the most versatile browser by far IMO.
