see also the lies he said on the sky link on the previous page re. WTO trade
Oh yes I'm sure he's a ****, jjust enjoyed DD squirming.
the difference between the outer areas and the inner ones are huge (ive lived in both)
Out of curiosity, did you choose to live there before or after the airport was built?
Rees Mogg is a classic upper class twit. He took his nanny with him when canvassing and said " doesn't everyone have one" when questioned on this
One of the things I like about him most is that he seems completely at ease with his personal wealth, success and privilege. Rather than try to appear "down with the proles" whilst sneaking back to his gilded manor house after work, he's completely up-front about it and even lampoons his own lifestyle. He's not rubbing anyone's nose in it, the "nanny" has worked for his family for over 50 years and is probably far more than simply a member of staff. Most MPs recruit the help of family and friends when canvassing so its hardly a scandal!
Was it Klunk who posted the "he has some nice friends" comment? I think he comes out of that rather well! He was tipped off an hour before an event that the host had some unsavoury views, but he chose to fulfil his promise to attend and then politely put the host in his place! I doubt there are many of the STW lefty hand-wringing bedwetters who would have the charisma, clarity of thought and balls to do that.
Out of curiosity, did you choose to live there before or after the airport was built?
Funnily enough im not older than Heathrow !
I lived there coz it's cheap! And choose enough that wife and i could both get to work, just Like the millions of other people that live close to the airport.
We weren't even that close either, parts of Hounslow are truly blighted by the M4, A4 & airport, as I posted above it has a negative effect on health, mental & physical and educational attainment.
Not that a BSer like Moog gives a shit, no matter how much he tries to infer hes down wif da staines maassiv 😉
I lived there coz it's cheap!
Well, I think you've inadvertently hit the nail on the head. You found an area that you could afford, at a distance from work that you feel is reasonable. The downside is the noise from the airport.
You could of course have bought somewhere quieter, had you been a little better off. Or if you'd been prepared to travel further to work.
So really, the airport is a huge benefit in this case as it allows lazy poor people to buy homes they can afford.

No he really doesn't come out of it well,
Points for trying to make him out as a liberal hero , when he himself said it was 'very silly' to attend, yet he did, despite warnings the day before.
Just your standard , lying, homophobe, bigoted brexiter imho !
So really, the airport is a huge benefit in this case as it allows lazy poor people to buy homes they can afford.
I think you've succeeded in confirming what everyone already thought about you with that one shibboleth !

When kimbers says cheap, 2up/2down Victorian terrace houses 2 miles closer to Heathrow than where he lived are currently going for £650,000+. So, yes, lazy poor people's houses.

Is that all?? Sounds like a marvellous buy-to-let opportunity... thanks for the heads-up 🙂
Ignore him he only wants attention.
If ever someone needed ghost banning its he.
Shibboleth has done a great job of illuminating just the type of person that is a fan of Mogg, so really he should be applauded,-
It's hard to comprehend the minds of some types of people so it's a useful insight !
We have a similar thing in the area in which I live. People move to the area to take advantage of the perceived benefits, but then try to change everyone else's way of life because certain aspects of rural life don't fit in with their ideals. We've even had people complaining to environmental health about the smell when farmers are muck-spreading, or noise at haymaking time.
If you buy a house beneath an airport's flight path, and you pay a reduced price because of it, you can't really expect sympathy when you decide you don't like the noise!

How noble of him, the poor dear.
Calling people Tory Scum is OK. Calling people Lazy is not ? Fact is both are unacceptable but only one is called out here.
We need more airport capacity nationally, Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham as a minimum.

What for?
What for?
The illusion that untrammelled growth can continue in a world of finite resources.
House prices are a bit like bike prices. Large, cheap, desirable... pick 2. At most.
Jamba raises a good point. STW is home to the most prejudicial bigots I ever come across. But because they choose to apply their prejudices against those more wealthy or privileged, they somehow feel that they're better than other bigots.
Personally, I'm not exactly wealthy or privileged, but I don't let those lucky enough to have either of those things get under my skin! I recognise their good fortune or hard work and pray that Lady Luck or my own endeavours bear as much fruit for me in the future.

Yes.

You don't get out much do you....
Try Stormfront or some of the darker corners of Arrse to find some truly bigoted folks.
I've no idea what that means...

I believe the quail was to die for... worth tolerating the host on its own!
I've no idea what that means...
I rest my case..
If you've ever got a spare half hour or so, he does an impressive line in filibusters...
I spotted several examples of deviation, hesitation and repetition there. Poor show.
So much hostility there must be Momentum members on here..
The pauses and hesitations are entirely in line with the purpose of a filibuster.
Which is demonstrating that you're a ****?
The passive aggressive shoot the messenger is one of my most favourite trolls

You're trying way too hard.

Offensive to the purist, though. Merton should have buzzed in.

Come on now - we all know that subversion of democracy by entrenched privilege is cause for celebration.

Clearly not a fan of momentum.

Not really I can't work out where the venom comes from, people seem to have such polar views on here its an eye opener, and the amount of anti brexit/government/wealth/capitalistic posts, leads me to think these views can only be spouted by people close to the meat.
No one posts "I understand what you are saying, but i feel" its all "AAAAArgh he's shite", "those Tories are idiots"...
But i guess it is what it is on some forums

I suppose that you might see it that way, if you choose to ignore what is written.

Yes.
I admire your stamina.
Have ever arrived across JRM himself? 😛

some people aren't clever enough
That's a rather silly post!
Possibly a bit too nuanced for some...
I'm questioning whether it's sensible to reply to someone who's clearly not equipped for this debate
To suggest otherwise is just silly.
I'm not going to waste my time answering your silly posts!
an incredible inability to debate the original point many of you seem to possess.
thought it might make you sound more educated?
the usual STW anti-privilege bigotry and liberal virtue signalling?

On same sex marriage, he said "I'm a Roman Catholic, and have made it clear to my association, from very early on, that in this sort of matter I would take my whip from the hierarchy of the Catholic Church, rather than from the Government's whip's office."So I think that reinforces that whilst some of his votes are at the behest of the whip, others are governed by his faith. I can't find any reason not to respect that
He was elected to represent his constituents, not Rome.
If his name was Sajid and he wanted to impose halal in school meals and prayers 5 time a day you'd be pissing your pants.
I suspect he'd only have to be called Tim for Shib to suddenly lose respect for voting choices based upon religion.
