...Deliberately!

OK, it was an engagement ring rather than the actual cash but i suppose the principle is still the same..

I had to google "tarn" 😳 . Good for you, clean break & all that. Make a note of where it landed, just in case there's a double-dip recession 😉

Just above Littleboro, Gtr Manchester!

For the locals its the little hidden tarn on the trail coming down from the track that leads under the front of Blackstone Edge 😆

If anyone finds a gold signet ring in south Devon, it's probably mine - although I lost it throwing a stick for the dog.

I try to think of it as a votive offering. 😥

If it is what you had to do to move on and know you were doing the "right thing", it's worth every penny.

Now, where my snorkel?

Not everyone earns £30'000 per annum CHB - besides, she chose it.

Not sure Ms Muddydwarf would be particularly happy about that - then again... 😉

Muddy, my wifes engagment ring cost £110 when we were still students. I meant it in that tasteless STW way! Well done you for a clean break.

[mind she lost the stone out of the ring 3 months before our tenth wedding anniversary.... always thought that was suspect!].

But you're a dwarf!

I thought the hobbits had all that disposing-of-the-Ring-of-Doom malarkey sewn up.

House feels a lot better anyway, damn thing's been sat there on the top shelf for 18 months & i didn't know what to do with it. Couldn't sell it, pawn shops only offered £20 etc so 'SPLASH' it was!

What was wrong with £20? And technically if that's all you were offered then you only actually threw £20 away?

I took it down to the shops ages ago & got a few derisory offers.

Couldn't be bothered with the hassle of flogging it (plus the funny looks from the female staff members) so i lobbed it.

I hope nobody was near the bottom, that could have left a nasty bruise!
Never got up to L'aguille du midi, went up to the Bouisson Glacier instead. Long walk up and back. Did hear a ringing noise at one point, thought it was just my ears...

Other northern geographic features you may care to look up:
mountain, ghyll, beck, clough, fell, hause, thwaite, crag, pike etc

or you could continue to navigate the exciting contours of upturned shopping trolleys and Tesco car parks which the sarf appears to comprise 🙁

If someone cares about how much a ring costs, then they shouldnt be marrying that person 🙂

We spent the money on a holiday together 🙂
