...Deliberately!
OK, it was an engagement ring rather than the actual cash but i suppose the principle is still the same..
which one, where? I'll just get my snorkel!
Grid reference?
😉
EDIT Too slow
I had to google "tarn" 😳 . Good for you, clean break & all that. Make a note of where it landed, just in case there's a double-dip recession 😉
What is a tarn?
Just above Littleboro, Gtr Manchester!
For the locals its the little hidden tarn on the trail coming down from the track that leads under the front of Blackstone Edge 😆
£350 for an engagement ring, no wonder it didn't work out.
If anyone finds a gold signet ring in south Devon, it's probably mine - although I lost it throwing a stick for the dog.
I try to think of it as a votive offering. 😥
If it is what you had to do to move on and know you were doing the "right thing", it's worth every penny.
Now, where my snorkel?

Rachel + Muddy Dwarf - a new STW couple in the making? 😀
Hope your life really picks up BTW
ta colin 🙄
Not everyone earns £30'000 per annum CHB - besides, she chose it.
Laughs at SimonRalli! 😆
Not sure Ms Muddydwarf would be particularly happy about that - then again... 😉
Muddy, my wifes engagment ring cost £110 when we were still students. I meant it in that tasteless STW way! Well done you for a clean break.
[mind she lost the stone out of the ring 3 months before our tenth wedding anniversary.... always thought that was suspect!].
Simonralli, you really don't know me, do you???
But you're a dwarf!
I thought the hobbits had all that disposing-of-the-Ring-of-Doom malarkey sewn up.
Ah, well things are maybe not so bad for you then Muddydwarf. Good stuff.
Allthegear - er no!
Well, it's a long way to Mordor! 😛
>Simonralli, you really don't know me, do you???
Bat for the other side ?
House feels a lot better anyway, damn thing's been sat there on the top shelf for 18 months & i didn't know what to do with it. Couldn't sell it, pawn shops only offered £20 etc so 'SPLASH' it was!
i flicked my wedding ring off the aguille du midi
Well, it's a long way to Mordor!
Yep, and now you need never go there to visit the in-laws. Job's a good 'un.
😆
What was wrong with £20? And technically if that's all you were offered then you only actually threw £20 away?
I took it down to the shops ages ago & got a few derisory offers.
Couldn't be bothered with the hassle of flogging it (plus the funny looks from the female staff members) so i lobbed it.

I hope nobody was near the bottom, that could have left a nasty bruise!
Never got up to L'aguille du midi, went up to the Bouisson Glacier instead. Long walk up and back. Did hear a ringing noise at one point, thought it was just my ears...
I like yer style. You romantic! obviously, in the right frame of mind, you'd get some cash for it. or give to me, and I'll get some cash for it!
I watched my g/f chuck her wedding ring in Stickle Tarn in 2000! Maybe there are loads in there ?
a tarn of treasure.
I had to google "tarn" &

Really ? You must be souverners innit ? Strike a lite gor blimey guvner etc...
I can only ask "why?". Are there really that many superstitious people about!?
Other northern geographic features you may care to look up:
mountain, ghyll, beck, clough, fell, hause, thwaite, crag, pike etc
or you could continue to navigate the exciting contours of upturned shopping trolleys and Tesco car parks which the sarf appears to comprise 🙁

don't you think symbolism is important ?
yay! my heart beats to the drum of cymbalism!
Was she still wearing it?
...that way you'll always know where it is...

Not necessarily in coire, the one referred to above isn't 🙂

Never ridden the South then?

the 'tish' of cymbalism, anyway 😉
my friend threw her engagement and wedding rings into the thames (windsor bit, so not too wide/deep!), combined value £2k plus...
i have often considered returning with my diving gear 🙂

If someone cares about how much a ring costs, then they shouldnt be marrying that person 🙂
We spent the money on a holiday together 🙂
i know, it would be an impossible task... i'd love to know what eventually happens to it - probably be in a museum in 1,000 years 😀
