After reading my credit card bill the other day I saw they had charged me a chunk of interest which was a surprise since I thought I had paid of the balance.
On further scrutiny I had made the electronic payment via tinternet but due to timing (weekend, end of month etc) the payment had arrived two days late. Being a good customer I called them up to explain and hopefully get a refund. No joy with the customer advisor who said I had not paid off the balance in full and the charge was valid. So I wrote them a polite but to the point letter, and lo and behold I get the best part of 80 quid back from them.
Just thought I'd share 🙂
I've found it's relatively easy to get charges back. I suspect they know that they're on shaky ground and it's better for them to refund 80 quid than it is to risk you going "right, I'll have the last six years' charges back, thanks."
