what on earth were they thinking? Speaking as a recording artist its astonishing to see what was once not only a ground breaking site but also such a simple thing to set up. Since they have changed it to My[____] its screwed up everyone's original themes/profiles, nothing works properly, its slow & and messy.
Everyone I know that makes music is dumping it in favour of farcebook and reverbnation, why did they do it? what were they thinking? how can a company get an 'upgrade' so desperately wrong? I wonder if it was developed by microsofts Vista team?

The thing is Soundcloud is no more susceptible than any flash based player no? Via stream rippers or the old fashioned way of recording the audio as it plays. Also with soundcloud isn't the ripped file usually down sampled to 128kbps?

Yeah myspace is getting worse. Lots of venues & promoters still use it to find / listen to / contact acts.
Imo you still need a myspace presence, but make sure it's not your only or primary presence
